Unknown downloads or point usage, what now?

If you see unknown files or folders in your Premiumize.me cloud storage or your transfer list, or if you see suspicious fair-use point usage in your overview list, don't panic!

In case you are using your account with your family at home, first check whether any of them have added these files or used fair-use points. If you can rule this out, someone probably has unauthorized access to your account.

It is possible that your account has been taken over because someone has your password. E-mail addresses and passwords are hacked all the time and even though this has never happened at Premiumize.me, accounts are often misused. The reason for this is usually that identical combinations of email address and password are also used on other websites. So make sure that you do not use your password on other websites. If you do, you should change your password on these sites immediately and use different passwords in future. If you also use the same password for your e-mail account, you should also make sure that no e-mail forwarding rules have been created. You can check here if your e-mail address or password has already been leaked. If your data does not appear here, this is of course no guarantee that your data was not stolen anyway.

First of all, you should make sure that nobody but you can access your account. Therefore, please follow the following checklist step by step:

Your account should now be secure again and no one should be able to access your account. If they do, you should definitely check access to your e-mail inbox and scan your computer for malware. Please note that there may be delays when logging out of sessions or when renewing the API key. In exceptional cases, this could take up to 24 hours at most. Please note that you are responsible for keeping your login details safe. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot refund any fair-use points that have been used without authorization.

If you have any suspicion that a certain tool, program or app has stolen your access data, please inform us immediately. Please pay special attention to any further anomalies in the next weeks and contact us immediately if you notice any.
